AMUSEMENTS.
BOXING. The booking for the ring-pide seats at to morrow's tourney has been very heavy, and a large crowd is expected from the country districts. The two shilling seats have been extended to within four rows of the ring, so early comers will enjoy a capital view of events. Doors open at 7.80 p.m.
Thompson—Payne pictures. "Standing room only" wan the position at the Foresters' Hall last night, when Messrs Thompson and Payne presented their change of pictures. The new series reveals something above the ordinary i" cinematography, and there are included an exceptionally large number of coloured subjects. Among the scenic pictures "The Irnatra Rapids" in Finland are in a class by themselves, and nothing finer has ever been produced here. Tne gstar picture "A Trip lo Jupiier" is a I I fantastic comedy in which an astronI omer dreams he is climbing through space, and his adventures are highly diverting. The stagecraft in this film is wonderful, and the various illusionary effects caused loud applause. The remainder of the programme is well above the average in quality, and affords a line evening's amustment To-night the "Funeral of King Edward VH." will be produced This picture can only be shown to-night.
