SLY-GROG SELLING.
BEER ON A STEAMER.

At the Magistrate's Court, today, John Ethridge, ex-master of the Ketch Argus, owned by the Burford Trustees, was fined £ls and £lO respectively on two charges of sly-grog selling en the vessel at Fuponga. Ethridge took several cases of beer froir. Neison aid sold the contents to the miners and others. The defence was that it was a question of mere carriage and delivery on behalf of the persons ordering. The Magistrate, in convicting said the evidence indicated, that the owners of the vessel were net unaware of the traffic.
