The Kbv. Father Johnston, of Waipawa, a very popular priest, is leaving for Kaikoura, Marlborough. Me was presented with a purse of BO«ereigna and many other gifts. Mr Frank H. Hart, of the Christchurch Press literary staft, has been appointed editor of the Timaru Herald; and will take up his, new duties at the end of August. '
Lord Islington, the new Govrenor of New Zealand, will arrive in Wellington this afternoon. Pending the completion of the new Uoverninent House he will stay at the Wellington Club.
