PRINCE OF WALES BIRTHDAY.
The Prince of Waled birthday is mentioned in a number ot Arbitration Awards as a holiday to be rigidly observed. But as there is at present no Prince of Wales in existence tho birthday of young Prince Edward, which falls on June 23rd, to-morrow, does not come within the scops of the Awards, and need not be observed by employers, unless they specially desire to do so. Thursday is in any case a half holiday in Itaasterton and elsewhere. It may not be observed, howin Wellington, as employers propose to substitute this afternoon, so as to fall in with the demonstration of welcome to the new Governor, for whicn occasion the Government has granted a special holiday.
