Friday. At a meeting of the ground cornmit'ee of the Wairarapa- and East Coast P. and A. Society to-day routine business, was dealt with, It was decided to hold the annual horse parade at Greytosvn this year, the date i being fixed for September 24th. The reports of the ground committee and ploughing match committee were receive and held over for consideration till the July meeting. Mr Coleman Phillips is to conduct a service under the auapices of the New Zealand Church of God at the Morison's Bush Hall on Sunday afternoon n°xt. Mr O. E. Hugo, had a very good audience at his lecture in the Methodist Schoolroom last evening, and ] ■is to deliver another on Monday | evening next. I Mr E. Eagle, junr,, of Blevedere, to-day. consigned four of his notrd Jersey heifers to the order of Mr J. P. Petersen, of Midhirst. The heifers are descendants of the imported "K.C.8." Ais appropriation of £3OO by ballot, under the auspices of the Wairarapa Terminating Building Society is to take place on June 30th. At a meeting' of the Volunteer Fire Brigade on Wednesday evening, Captain-E. McKenzie in the chair, a credit balance of lis 9d was reported from the recent social. It was decided to hold the annual meeting on July sth, and that a smoke concert be held after. A benevolent grant was made to a brother fireman it: the Nwe Plymouth Brigade, who recently met with an accident. The death occurred at the Greytown Hospital last evening of Miss Je. c sie Kiddie, daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Kiddie, of this town. The de ceased was only 28 years of age, and had not been ill long. The late Miss Kiddie was possessed of a disposition, which won for her many friends who will sin?e*ely mourn her demise. The bereaved family will have the sympathy of a large circle of friends. The interment is to take place ac the Clareville Cemetery on Sunday afternoon. The members of the ! ocal Salvation Army are holding a "Social Sunday" on the 19th inst., when the services will be conducted by Staff Captain Roi, who has for Ihe past seven yearj ! b?eii in charge of the Girls's Home in | Wellington, where upwards of fifty i girls are located.
