MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the Masterton County Council'was held yest terday afternoon, there being present:—Crs. W. W. Welch (chairman), Colquhoun, Miller Foreman, Murray, Kebbell, Toogood, and Bee*, tham. Mr F. A. Sheath wrote asking the Council to relax the heavy traffic clause of the By-laws to enable him to remove some old buildings from Mangarnahoe to Tmui. It was decided to inform Air Sheath that his application coull not be entertained. Messrs Gawith and Logan, solicitors, notified that further act en regarding the closing of Pn, v>r's Road is suspended for the present. I A letter was received from the Mayor of Masterton ssking what steps the County Council had taken in reference to the re-erection of the new bridges over the VVaipoua river. The chairman said that the Council had made application for the amount, £3,000, required for the wrrk, but had not yet received a from the authorities. It was decided to infirm Mr Coradine to this effect. It was decided to hire the Borough steam roller for two days, for work between Mr Macara's boundary and I Buick's Cutting.
