TOWN BALL fICTURES. , AN UFOKTUNATE ACOIDEN T. An unfortunate accident happened at the Master ton Town Hall, just as the curtain " was rising to a large audien"e last evening. The machinist had just started the engine when, owing to atmospheric change and a sli'ht fault, a valve blew out. The machinist, though temporarily blinded, escaped any serious injury. The services of Mr Jones, electrical engineer, were sjrefdily obtained, but it seemed as though it would take some time to repair the defect, and the manager reluctantly decided to return their m:>ney to the public rather than delay them for a lengthy time. However, Mr Jones succeeded in righting matters at 8.45 p.m., and those who remained about the Hall were given a free exhibition. The * management publishes ail apology to day. and assures the public that everything is now in perfect order. The services of an experienced engineer have been secured to supervise the power arrangements. A new programme of films has arrived from Auckland, and will be presented for a first time to-night. Tnia will include' the .film "Cleopatra," describing the celebrated Egyptian Queen. The Hawkesbury River and and a number of other excellent scenic pictures will also be presented, together with drama and a fine selection of comedy. There will be a matinee this afternoon, at 3 o'clock. THOMPr.ON-FAY N'fc) PICTURES. The Foresters' Hall was comfortably filled le si; night, "when several additions were made to the already lengthy programme. ~ The tion of ."Mount Etna," "Caglioslra," and "Barry Training" proved popular, and were, closely followed by "The Judge and the Girl," Judgment," aid "Ideal Army Life." Among the last films, "Through Norway" ii a very picturesque subject, and shows how this wonderful country apprars from the front of a train. This tvaning a still lurther addition will be made to the programme with a splendid film entitled "The Heroine of Marking." The fsee matinee for children will take place at 2.30 pin.
