Despite the ftict that the season was unfavourable for root crops, there is an excellent displny of these, rivalliner in quality the be%t shown at other exhibitions. These were judged by Mr Cuddie, the dairy expert, and Messrs Johnston and Wright, Government graders. The best box of export butter was shown by the Pihama Dairy Company, \vf:h the Ruvpvlhorpe Dairy Company second, and Taihape Dairy Company third. The Novice Class for export butter was won by Pihama, with Bunnytlnrpe second, and Kapanea third. In factory-made cheese, Kaponga trok first prize, Ngaere second, and Warea third. Great interest is centred in the splendid exhibit of a miniature r?finery. and the re-s-ilti of refining oil from the Taranaki Petroleum Company's bores. The Company has been asked to show this exhibit at the Palmerston and Flawera forthcoming Shows.
