AMUSEMENTS.
TOWN HALL PICTURES. OPENING ENTERTAINMENT. The Mast?rton Town Hall was packed from floor to ceiling last evening, for the opening picture entertainment given by Messrs Hay ward, Clark and Vile. Before eight o'clock it was impossible to accommodate another per- j son m the si alls and~pttr and the j circle was rapidly beir.g taxed to j the utmo3t. The programme submit- j ted went with a swing from start to , finish, and every film was loudly ap- ; plauded. The vivid description of Red i Indian life waa well received, and j the Cassera Park was acknowledged j as a very fine scenic picture. The film pdurtraying the German National Zoo was pronounced 10 be one of the finest ever witne 7 Fed by a Master ton aurlienc?. The Boy Scout Picture naturally appealed to the juvenile portion of the audience. The great military drama "In the NicK of Time," was a revelation.in cinematograph work, and was loudly applauded, as were also the whole of the comic films. Some of the latter | were exceedingly humorous, and j provided many hearty laughs among | the audience. The programme, which j is admittedly an exceptionally good I one, and full of interest, will be repeated to-night. Mr T. Inns, who . has been permanently engaged as musician for the season gave every satisfaction with appropriate music In an interval in the programme, Mr A. H. Vile thanked the audience for their splendid patronage, and promised that future entertainments would be still more attractive. The Foresters' Hall was well filkd again last night. This evening the usual change of p>efcine-i wjJi ba presenter). "Mount Et.-i>i" will be shown during the recent eruption, and a good idea will be gained rsf tre effect of that disastrous outbreak and its subsequent results. "Ernest Bar'-y," the champion sculler of England, will be shown training lor his race with Dick Arns't for the world's championship, which takes place shortly on the Zambesi rivtrin Africa, "the Girl and the Judtce" is a dramatic subject highly spoken ' of wherever shown, and "Judgment" is another of the popu lar cowboy pfriep. The comedy will be supplied by "Army Life," "Brother Musicians," "The Minstrel's Mishap," and "Foolshead—Am 1 Mad."
