AMUSEMENTS.

TOWN HALL PICTURES. The programme to be presented at the Town Hail on Wednesday evening is so full of "star" pictures, and so varied in character, that it is almost invidious to mention any single item. The films pourtraying the Scouts at work in England, the German National Zoo, and the srraat military drama "In the Nick of Time," will well repay the patrons of the Hall. Added to these will bs a series of side-splitting comedies. A galaxy of incident and a whirlwind of innocent fun. The management, by advertisement, calls attention to its intention to supply the only sixpenny entertainment in the town, and in city style. The curtain will rise at 8 o'clock, and two-and-a-haif hours' music, mirth and merriment will follow. Seats may be reserved at Inns an:l Goddard's.

THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. ■ The change of programme presented at the Foresters' Hall last night was patronised by the largest audience that has yet filled the building. The various pictures were exhibited with great regularity, steadiness and finish. The scenic portion included "Dragging Nets and Fishing," "A Trip Through Picturesque Jersey," a natural colour study by Pathe ;Frere, and "Dutch Typas," ttuwin? some of the quaint headdresses and costumes worn in various parts of The drama was represented by "Thf Ragamuffin's Marriage," "The Indian," "ihe Artist's Dream," and "Nick Carter, Detective." A fine pictorial representation of uounod's grand opera "Faust," was also shown. "Cowboy Exploits," gives a comprehensive idea of what life is on the cattle ranches in the Wild West of America. The comic element was j supplied by "Mr and Mrs v Brown in the Country," "Foolshead Preaching Temperance," and a. unique picture of the eminent London comedians, Edmund Payne and Geary Grossmith, in their respective character impersonations of "Lord Hugh" and "Jim," in "Miss Gibbs."
