This picture has already done much towards popularising the scout movement in the Old Country.
There was a large attendance at the Knox Church lsst evening, to hear the lecture on "Handel" by Rev. Bam Macdcnald, which was held under the auspices of the Knox Musical and Literary Society. The speaker gave an outline of the great com* poser's life and his early history. He then dealt with some of his most famous compositions, especially the oratorio "The Messiah." During the evening Mr PurceJl Webb played the following organ selections in particularly fine style, "The Harmonious Blacksmith," "Letthrebright Seraphim from Samson," "I Know that My Redeemer Livetb," and the overture to the Oratorio. Miss Jessie McGiegor, who was in paticularJy giod voice, sang .."He was Despised,'' and "Oh, Thou that tellest Good Tidings to Zion." The entertainment was a most enjoyable and instructive one, and was greatly appreciated by all present. Mr'Hayward, the ladies' tailor, of Lambton Quay, has a change advertisement in this issue.
