Thursday. A meeting of the General Committee of the South Wuirarapa Poultry Association was held this afternoon at Carterton, Mr R. J. Chapman presiding in the absence of Mr D. Reid, who is away in Aus tralia. A vote of .condolence was passed in connection with the death of King Edward VII. Messrs Tucker and Chapman were appointed canvassers, and Messrs J. isradbury, of Masterton, 'and A. Pink, of Carterton, were elected members. A notice of motion was given to hold a smoke concert instead of a dinner. It was derided to allot a special prize of 10s 6d in each class in the utility section. Mr O. E. Hugo, the well-known physiognomist is to deliver one of his flmusing and instructive lectures 00 "Heads and Faces 7 ' in the Fire Brigade Hall on Monday Evening.
