DEATH OF MRS E RAYNER.
We regret to record the death of Mrs E. Rayner, late of "Ringwell," Masterton, who passed peacefully away, after a serious illness, at ber residence, Hiropi street, Wellington, yesterday morning. The deceased lady was born at CamberwelJ, England in 1852, and came out to New Zealand in the ship Lincoln in 1867 with her sister. She was married at Wellington to the late Mr John Hicka Corbett and came to Masterton 31 years ac;o, her husliaud taking over the Empire Hotel. Mr Corbett died 24 yearß ago. The deceased lady was highly respected and very popular among a wide circle of friends, who will learn with deep regret of her demise. In social matters she was ever a willing helper, and many functions of the kind in Masterto/i ows their success largely to her efforts. Many sterling qualities and a kindly disposition also endeared] Mrs Rayner to those who knew her. The deceased leaves the following family:—Mrs F Butement (Masterton), Mrs W. T. Gilbert (Gisborne) Misses Hilda Corbett, Winnie Rayner, Violet Rayner, Wellington, ana Messrs C. Corbett (Masterton), P. Corbett (Masterton;, L. Corbett (Christchurch). R.Corbett (Waipawa), and T. Rayner (Wellington) all of whom will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement, A nnmliP' grandchildren are aIBO left. The funeral will take place as ( Masterton to-morrow afternoon, at 3 (o'clock.
