The Education Settlement Committee haß published a scheme m which it proposes that schools in the one school areas should be vol- j untarily transferred to the State, two years being allowed for negotiations at a fair rental. The denominational schools are to be retained in the urban areas with teachers i>n harmony with the distinctive character of the schools, but with full right of ' children to receive other religious instruction if parents desire. 7 If the parents of 150 children are willing to build and maintain school buildings the local authority is to be obliged to recognise the new denominational schools. , v
