HOCKEY.

SATURDAY COMPETITION. The P. and T. team met and defeated Masterton at Lansdowne on Saturday after a fast gam ', by 4 goals to one. Goals were scored for tfip winners by D. Loader (2), J Berry, and N. Williams, while W. Minett notched a goal for Masterton, ANOTHEK CUP DONATED. In order to encourage young players and especially the "B" teams playing in the junior competition of I the Wairarapa Hockey Association, Messrs L. S. Nicol and A. C. Pragnell have donated a silver cup for competition. This season it is to be awarded to the "B" team which gains the most championship points in the junior competition. Ii future seasons it will be for a third grade competitions. The trophy will te \ known as the "Nicol—Pragnell *Cup," and before it is won outright it must be won three times in succession, or four times at intervals.
