MASTERTON RACING CLUB
ADJOURNED MEETING. The adjourned meeting of the Stewards of the Masterton Racing Ciub wss held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs C. F. Vallance (chairman), A. G. Pilmer, Welch, J. Macara, W. Cooper, R. Buick, J. lorns, F. Dorset, D. MeLa<*hlan, O. Cioper and D. Caselbere.
The Napier Park Racinß Club wrote objecting to the dates suggested by the Stewards for the Masterton Autumn meet ng, viz , March 17th andlSth. After discussion it was decided to apply for 23rd and 24th March. The Railway Department wrote forwarding £22 15s 2d, the balance of the guarantee for a special train for the last races This transaction showed a loss to the Club of £ll 13s zd. Mr H. applying for tha balance of stakes due to him. It was decided to hold the matter over till next meeting. A letter was received from Mr R. B. Harley stating that he had decided to commence starting-, and asking the Club for its support. The letter was received. ■ A committee, consisting of Messrs C. F. Vallnncc, D. Caaelberg, F. Dorset, 0. Cooper, "and D. McLachlan, was Eet up to go into the question of curtailing the expenditure incurred at the Masterton Club's race meetkes. The Secretary was instructed to write to the secretaries of other cluba in the Wairarapa and ascertain what fees they charged trainers. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr F. Dorset for the afsistance he had given in the Club in the management of the course.
