A CHINESE TEACHER.
CAUSES TROUBLE OVER CONFUCIUS.
United Press Association-By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received May 11, 9.15 p.m. SYDNEY, May 11.
It was stated at the Presbyterian Assembly that the recent introduction of a Chinese teacher to Sydney had produced trouble among the Chinese. It appeared that the teacher compelled children to Low down each morning before an image of Confucius. The parents objected, and one of the strongest objectors was the Rev. Young 'wa», the local Chinese Minister. As a result Confucians had met together in what was called a court, and tried Young Wai, and plotted in detail his assassination. Steps have been taken to protect Mr Young Wai.
