Halley's comet rose to-day at 3.48 a.m., 34 million miles distant from the earth. Rises at 3.57 a.m. to-morrow, 30 mi'lion miles distant. Transit of comet across sun's disc —2oth May, between 1.50 and 2.50 a.m. Perigree of comet~2oth May.
