Own Correspondent. Monday. It is with sincere regret that I have to record the d°ath of Mr Jim Bis. sett, which occurred last night, at Palmerston North. The deceased was the second son of Mr J. S. Bissett, of Belmont, Konini, and had been ailing for some considerable time, On Wednesday last he underwent a serious operation, from the effects of which he never recovered. Deceased was well known in the district, being a prominent member of the Konini footbail team since he left school, also, he was a very talented black and white artist, sketches from his pencil frequently appearing 5' the Wellington Free Lance. The funeral will leave St. Peter's Church, Terrace End, for the Cemetery, Palmerston North, to-morrow (Tuesday), at 2 p.m. The sympathy of his many friends will be extended to his parents in their sad bereavement. A meeting of the Chamber of Commerce is to be held to consider whether the business places will be closed tc-morrow, if so, a notice wil be posted in a prominent part of the town. Messrs Abraham and Williams anticipate a record sale to-morrow. The company are submitting to auction the stock from Clifton Estate, alao several other lines from prominent breeders in the district. It is anticipated that the yarding will be considerably over 5,000 sheep, and 500 head of cattle. The pulpit of all the churches in town were draped in black and purple, yesterday, and rererence was made at all services to the sad loss the nation had sustained by the death of King Edward. \ The excitement incidental to travelling and change of water and food often brings on diarrhoea, colic and pain in the stomach, and for this reason no one should leave home without a bottle of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea can always be depended upon „j effect a quick cure. It cannot be procured when or board train or steamer, and that is wh-n it is most likely to be needed, and foi thia , reason should always be procured before . leaving home.
