Halley's comet rose to-day at 3.40 a.m., 41 million miles distant from the earth. Rises at 3.44 a.m. to-morrow, 37 million miles distant. Transit of comet across sun's disc —2oth May, between 1.50 and 2.50 a.m. Perigree of comet—2oth May.
