The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast ?ue as follow :—Barometric pressure lias decreased both in the extreme Norlh and Soutn, and the weather has been unsettled in those parts and on the West Coast of the South Island. Fair but changeable weather has been experienced elsewhere, and noriherly winds have prevailed.

Present indications are somewhat threatening in both the North and Soulh, as disturbances are in evidence in tlie rear of an anti-cyclone now apparently moving eastward. Easterly wii'de, strong to gale are probable northward of'the East Cape and Kawhia, and . northerly elsewhere. Rain is probable in the far North and South and unsettled weather generally.
