Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:---We held our usual monthly sate to-day,and submitted an average catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Bidding for aH classes was most spirited, snd whilst we sold the wool and skins we considered it advisable in the interests of owners to pass a number of lots of hides. The prices offered for the latter were considerably below cur valuation, but we were able to quit them after the sale at ruling rates. We quote: —Wool: Crossbred, medium, 62sd to Bd, dead sfd; locks, 3£d to 3|d; lambs, s|d to Bd. Skins: Pieces, Id; crossbred, fine, 6Jd to 7£d; medium, 6|d to 7d; inferior. 4gd to s|d; dead, sd; half wools, 4Jd; quarter wools, s|d; lambs, 4|d to 7£d; black, . r JJd; pelts, 4d to 4Jd; skins at per piece, crossbred, 2s lid. 3s Id, 3s Bd, 4s 2d, 5s Id to 5s 4d; lambs, 2s 2d, 2s 3d and 4s 6d; dead, 4s lOd; green skins, crossbred, 6Jd, 6|d per lb; at per piece,ls 6d, Is 8d to 8s; lambs, 4s 3d; salted skins, lambs, Is 6d; Crossbred, Is 8d to 3s 7d; calf skins, sound, B£d to Bgd; slinks, 4d; yearlings, s£d to s|d; slippy, 3£d; cut, sgd;dry, sd; yearlings, cut, 4Jd. Our next sale will be held on May 27th, 1910.
STOCK REPORT. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report oa their Eketahuna sale, held on Friday, the 29th inst., as follows: —We had aa exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep, and report having sold all but two pens. Bidding for lambs was not so good as last sale, and in most cases vendors had to lower their reserves. Ewes and wethers sold well. Cattle sold at late valu3S. We quote:—Best lambs. 9s; medium sorts, 7s, 7s 3d, 7s 5d to 7s 8d; 2 and 4 tooth wethers, 12s 9d, 13s 3d to 13s Brf; 2-tooth ewes, lis 9d to 12s 9d; mixed aged ewes, 7s, 7s 9d, 8s to 9s 4d; fat ewes, Us sd; call lambs, 2s 6d to 3s 3d. Cattle.—-Mixed weaners, 34s to 37a; springing heifers, £3 9s, £4 7s 6d to £5 2s.
