PERSONAL.
The death occurred at Wellington, yesterday, of Mr Arthur Beauchamp, father of Mr Harold Beauchamp, Chairman of the Bank of New Zealand. Mr James Kirker, general manager of the South British Insurance Company has been elected president of the council of the Fire Underwaters' Associaiton.
It is stated by the "Thames Star," that, Mr O. Gore Adams, formerly director of the Thames School of Mines, and son of Mr C. N. Adams, Lower Hutt, Wellington, has received an appointment in Bolivia worth £1,200 a year. Mr William A. lorns, a well-known Masterton resident, and eon of Mr W. lornSj of Columba Road, was married on Wednesday last to Miss L. James, daughter of the late Mr James, of "Woodlands,*' Wangaehu. Miss I. James acted as bridesmaid, and Mr A. Gray was best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bain Macdonald.
The funeral of the late Mr Percy Church took placo at the Masterton Cemetery yesterday atternoon. The cortege was one of the largest seen in Masterton for some considerable time. Members of the Rechabite Lodge, followed by members of the Masterton Fire Brigade, walked in front of the hearse, and then followed the members of <he Masterton Methodist Sunday School, Masterton Hockey Clubs, and friends. The pall bearers were Messrs J. day, F. W Temple, and F. Griffith (reorienting C. E. Dankll and C\. where deceased was employed), L. Pearce, (Rechnbitp Lodge), L. McMaster (Methodist Junior Men's Bible CliJ's, ard R. Mclver. C. E. Daniell, ana S.-G. f'resswel) (Methodist Sunday School). A service was conducted at the graveside by the Rev. C. E. Porter, and Bro. J. Andrews the brief Burial Service of the Rechabite Lodge. By special request of his eidest sister, the late Mr Church's favourite hymn was suns at the conclusion of the btuial service. Amongst the large number of wreaths were those sent by Knox and St. Matthew's junior hockey clubs, Masterton Fire Bri gade, and the Methodist Choir, Sunday School, Christian Endeavour Society, .Junior Men's- Bible Class, and Senior Young Ladies' Bible Class.
