Paget, State Minister for Railways, has taken an important step forward in the direction of the trans-continenta! railway through Western Queensland, linking up Fort Darwin with the railway system of the States. He has ordered future surveys, to be followed by trial surveys, for the extension of the Queensland system north and west of Moont Elliott; also, from Cloncurry to Camooweal and Burketown.
