STOCK MARKET. The New' Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd,, report at their Masterton fortnightly stock sale yesterdayWe offered a full yarding in sheep of all classes. Bidding was slow at the start, but freshened up as the sale proceeded, and at the close of the day we had only a few pens left unsold. Vendors' reserves hampered business. All good classes made full values. In cattle we had a very large entry, which embraced every class, and with good quality stuff we were enabled to make a total clearance. The tone of the market was firm, with an unsatisfied demand for growing steers. In mutton wethers made up to 14s 6d;good ewes 10s to lis 3d; forward ewes, up to 9s; store wethers, medium 2-tooth lis; breeding ewes, fair class 8s to Bs|6d; culls, 5s to 6s; boilers 3s 2d. In lambs, best made 9s 6d; others, 8s to 9s; medium, 6s; small, 5s to 5s 6d; 3 to 3£yr steers, £5 15s; 2Jvr olde, grod, £4 10s; next grade, £4; 18 to 20 months, £3 10s; yearlings, 45s to 48s; calves, 21a; good cows and calves, £4 6s; poor cows and calves, 57s 6d; tat cows, £4 2s 6d; forward cows, 50s to 60s: empty heifers, 2i to 3 years, 6s; choice springers, £6.

MASTERTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—We held our monthly sale of wooi, skins, hides, etc., yesterday, when we offered 40 bales and 30 bags of wool, 1,800 sheepskins, 60 hides and a quantity of tallow, rabbitskins and horsehair. There was the usual attendance of buyers, and competition was keen for all lots offered. Prices realised were as follows: Wool: Crossbred fleece, 7Jdto9gd; dead, 6|d to 7£d; pieces, 5d to 7Jd; locks, 3£d to 3|d; crutchings, s£d to 6Jd. Sheepskins: Crossbred, full wools, 7d to lid; quarter wool,* 6&d; short wools, s£d to s|d pelts, 4fd; dead and broken hoggets, s§d; dead shorts, 3d; inferior pelted dead, s£d; lambs, Yd; seedy lambs, 3fd; damp lambs, 2s 7d each; damp quarter wool, 3s sd; damp shores, 3s. Hides: Ox, s£d; cow, best, 6£d, medium, 5%d; calf, inferior, 4d to 4Jd,"horse, 4s 6d. Tallow: Casks, 23s 3d to 25s 9d per cwt.: kees and barrels, 19s 9d to 20s 3d; tins, 18s 6d to 20s 3d; bags, 15s 3d. Rabitskins: lid per lb. Horsehair, Is 2d per lb. Horns: 3s 9d per 100. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, June Ist, 1910.

I The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-oper-ative Association, Ltd., and Mepsrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow, yesterday, when we ottered ten bales wool, s HO bags wool, '1,200 sheepskins, 70 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow, horsehair, etc. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and the prices realised were slightly in advance of those ruling at our last sale. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd , reponrt having held their usual fortnightly sale at their Waipouii yards, yesterday, when they offered a good yarding of both cattle and sheep, which came forward well above advertised numbers, and are pleased to report having had a total clearance of all stock offered, although biddingwas not so brisk as at former sales. They quote as follows: — Lambs, shorn, 5s 6a, 6s, 6s 3d to 7s 6d; woolly lambs, small, 3s, 3s 4d, 3a Bd, 4s 2d to 5s 6d; better sorts, 8s 2d to 9s 9d; ewes, old, 3s, 3s lOd to 6s; 2-tooth ewes, 9s to lis 3d; 2-tooth ewes and withers, small, to 7s. Cattle: Three-year steers, backward, £4 10s to £5 fat cows, £3 12s to £5 18-months steers, £2 8s to £2 ■

3 ss; weaner steers, 30s to 325; cowa and calves, to £4 2a 6d; springing heifers, £3 to £3 16s. Horses:: Sold well up to late rates. Pigs: Weaneia to 6s 3d; porkers, lis to 13s; sows, £2 to £2 ss.
