Own Correspondent. Tuesday. A meeting of the Pahiatua Drama tic Society was held in St. Ptter's Schoolroom last night, to confirm the rules drawn up by the committee. During the evening the President, Mr G. A. Burgess remarked that a rumour had been circulated that the Society was being run on denominational lines, and that he wished to give the rumour an emphatic denial, and after the Society had established its funds on a secure basis, it intended to further the objects of any local

charity. Through the agency of Mr W. Inglia Hubsaiid, Mr J. R. Loney, of Mangatiti, has disposed of his farm to Mrs R. Loney, of Mangatiti, Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held an auction sale in the Olympic Theatre this afternoon, where they disposed of the farms held under the Wellington corporation lease, to the present occupants at the upset rentalThe Trustees of the late Thomas Hurley also put up his holding at 1-iamua, but the reserve not being reached the property wai passed in, the highest bidder having the iirst option.

' Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., re- ] port having held their usual fortnightly sale at the Pahiatua Farmers' Yards, yesterday, when they offered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle, but not quite up to advertised numbers. Buyers were present from all parts of the district. Competition was keen and a total clearauce resulted. Prices were as follow:—Fullmouth ewes in lamb, 5s 2d to 7s; lambs, 5s Bd, 6s 4d, 7s 2d to 8s Id; old ewes to 3s 3d. Cattle: Thre#year steers, small, £4 lis to £4 18s; empty heifers to £3 12s 6d; springing cows, £3 16s to £4 8s; weaners, heiters, to 325, Eteers to 38s. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pahiatua, t'.A. sale of 19th inst. as follows:-We submitted a heavy>arding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle to a moderate attendance of farmers. The bulk of the sheep were disposed of at good values, as also were the cattle. Quotations: Forward wethers, 12s '9d to 13s; two-tooth ewes in lamb, lis to 12s; sound-mouth ewes in lamb, 8s 3d to lis; full-mouth ewes in lamb, 3s 9d to 6s lid; empty forward ewes, 6a 7d to 8s 3d; medium lambs, 6s 6d; fat cows, £4 lis to £5 ss; forward empty cows £2 19s to £3 15s; cows, just calved, £3 15s to £G 10s; springing dairy cows to £6 ss.
