The Tasraanian Senate returns are complete. The Labour candidates— Messs O'Keefe, Long and Readyhave been elected. I NEW MEMBERS. SYDNEY, April 16. The new House of Representatives will include nineteen new members, seventeen of whom are Labour. MR FISHER CONGRATULATED. SYDNEY. April 16. Mr Fisher has received congratulations from the New Zealand Labour Party. Mr Joseph Cook, Minister for Detence, attributes the Labour success to the Newcastle strike and good organisation. Mr G. C. Wade, the State Premier, repudiates the idoa that the action of his Government with regard to the strike had contributed to the Labour victory. A TELLING COMPARISON. Received April 17, 5 p.m. SYDNEY, April 16. In the last House of Representa:ives, the Fusionists held seventeen seats for Victoria, the Labourites four and Independent one. In the jew House the representation is 11 Fusionists, 10 Labourites, and one Independent. South Australian representation remains unchanged, viz., 4 Labourites and 3 Fusionists.
Queensland exchanged: Five Fusionists and 4 Labourites for 3 Fusionists and 6 Labourites. Westralia's change is from 3 Fusionists and 2 Labourites to 2 Fusionists and 3 Labourites. Tasmania has changed over from 4 Fusionists and 1 Labourite to 2 Fusioniats and 3 Labourites. \ THE LABOUR PROGRAMME. APPRECIATION BY "THE TIMES." Received Aprill 7, 5 p.m. LONDON, April 16.
