Own Correspondent. Saturday, j The secretary of the Pahiatua j Agricultural Association has received j the fcllowing nominations for the office of President lor the ensuing year:—Messrs J. C. Cooper, Wm. Tosswill, and Alex. Koss. Mr Graham, of Kaitawa, met with an accident this morning, which fortunately waa unattended with serious result. While driving to the | factory his horse shied, ai'd both , horse and cart were precipitated down a steep embankment. The horse was killed on the spot, but fortunately Mr Graham escaped unhurt, with the exception ol a few bruises. The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Peter's Church is to be held on Friday next, in the Church Schoolroom, at 8 p.m. Avery enthusiastic meeting was held in the Council Chambers last night, for the purpose of forming an Aamteur Dramatic Club. Mr G. A. Burgess waa voted to the chair, and briefly explained the object of the meeting. After some discussion it waa unaniomusly resolved to form a club, to be called the Pahiatua Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Club. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr G, A. Burgess; Vice-Presidents, Dr Dawson, and Mrs D. Crewe; stage and business manager, Mr C. Scobell; secretary, Mr G. Hawley Drew; treasurer, Mr W. White Scott; Committee, Messrs Oxlev, W. To3swill, T. Manifold, Mrs Baker Gabb, and Miss Burgess. After the meeting about forty members handed in their names to the secretary as active members.
