During the Lords' veto debate in the House of Commons, Mr Keir Bardie, Labour member for Merthyr Tydfil, whilst arguing that the Labour representatives did not favour extravagance, incidentally remarked that the finances of South Australia got into such a condition under Liberal and Tory administrations that the Labourites had Deen summoned to set them straight.
