(Own Correspondent.) Friday. In conversation with a settler of Carrington this morning, he informed me that the muvement to form a co-operative dairy company on the settlement will not affect the Belvedere Dairy Factory, who only recently addpr! additions to their I factory to accoinmudate suppliers i from that new settlement. The prouosed i.tvv tdct-ny *ili nut offer betttr facilities to many whi are at j present supplier to Belvedere, but j will be a great convenience to some i further back on the settlement. Mr Jas. Adamson, manager of the Featherston Co-operative Dairy company, was a visitor to Taratahi to-day. Mr B. Yelverton, of Featherston, was the successful tenderer at £43 for the £3OO appropriation by sale held by the Wairarapa Terminating Building Society last evening. The final of the junior singles tournament of the local Bowling Club was played yesterday afternoon, and was won by Pink, who defeated Neilson. A good deal of interest waq taken in the tourney. At a meeting of the committee of the South vVairarapa Boy Scouts yesterday afternoon, at Greytown, it was decided to nominate Mr W. Barton for the position of District Commander. The local Fire Brigade has decided to run a one man handicap coupling event for a trophy presented by Messrs Veitch and Allan. Ihe Brigade intends holding a social and dance on April 28th. Mr Geoigeson, Inspector of Factories, was on an official visit to Carterton to day.
