Mr J. N. Grant, Grand Secretary of the Druids Lodge for the North Island, is at present on a visit to Masterton. Mr Scott, Government ' mmtt who has been m v . n2i , geofroa « s bridges th j ß for the past I'leVen and a half years, left yesterday iOr the King Country, where he will take up similar duties. Prior to his leaving here, Mr Scott was presented with, a case of pipes by the Masterton County Council staff, the presentation being made by Mr F. G. Moore. Mr Scott was also in receipt of a letter from Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., expressing aprrelation of the valuable serviecs he had rendered this district, and regret at his departure, Mr Scott had four counties under his juridsiction, namely, the Masterton, Maurcieville, Eketahuna and Castlepoint Counties, and during his term of office some ninety miles of roads were formed and about fifty miles metalled. Mrs Scott accompanied Mr Scott, and their luture home will be near Taumarunui.
