Bates' summary and forecast;— Barometric pressure has increased everywhere,* and especially jn s the southernmost, \jpherej the weather *h'as been very Unsettled. A southerly gale with heavy rain was reported last about Foveaux Strait. Moderate southerly winds have prevailed, and. fine weather, generally. Present indications are for fair weather in most parts of the country, little movement of the barometer, and moderate and variable wiiids.
