AN ENQUIRY
BEING HELD JN CAMERA. Received April 6, 10.20 a.m. PERTH, April 6. A preliminary enquiry is being held with respect to the loss of the Pericles. The examination is in camera. The papers will be torwarded to the Colonial Secretary. Tbe captain of the Mongolia thinks the Pericles struck a pinnacle rock which other ships have had the good fortune to escape.
BUTTER CARGO.
HUNDREDS OF BOXES COMING ASHORE. Received April 6, 10.40 a.m. PERTH, April 6. Hundreds of boxes of butter are floating ashore in Flinders Bay. The locality of the Pericles has been found by oil coming up from the engine room.
