PAHIATUA NEWS.
(Own Correspondent). Saturday. At the Counnty Council meeting today, a telegram was read from the private secretary to his Excellency the Governor, informing the Council that his Excellency proposed paying a farewell visit to Pahiatua on April 21st. The chairman expressed the hope that all the Councillors would be present to. bid farewell to the Governor. Owing to the cola weather the supply of milk at the Ballance Dairy Factory at Konini is decreasing. At present the largest supplier is Mr T. Avery, with 2,2001b. The average test is 4.4. The laiest consignment of butter was graded 94. Mr G. H. Gillard has purchased Br G. Hitchcock's farm of 100 acres at Mangatiti. Mr W. I. Husband, Sand agent, was instrumental in insgotating the purchase at a satis factory price. The meeting of the local branch of the Farmers' Union lapsed to-day for want of a quorum. Mr T. Bailey has received the appointment of representative f:r the North Island for the Whalton Com pany, England. The business in Pahiatua, formerly conducted by Messrs Thos. and Sid. Baiiey. will now be carried or by the latter.
