MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
The Masterton Racine Club held their monthly meeting on Saturday afternoon, there being present,— Messrs C. F. Vallance (in the chair), D. McLachlan, D. Caselberg, F. Dorset, A. Welch, J. Macara, J. lorns, J. Cress, and Donald. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. Piatt. The secretary of the Wellington Racing Club wrote convening a meeting of delegates from Racing Clubs in the Wellington district, to discuss the issue of complimentary and luncheon tickets at a meeting to be held on April Bth at 8.30 p.m. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the Club's delegates, Mesars Cooper and McLachlan. Mr Macara said he was of opinion that the club should take steps themselves in the matter, [jit should he said be in the direction of charging every person two shillings at the gate, any privilege to be granted after the person had entered the ground. Mr W. H. E. Wanklyn, secretary oflhe New Zealand Racing Conferee. Christchurch. notified that all applications for dates of race meetings artd totalisator permits for the ensuing year must be forwarded to him before April 30 th. lyn). 'Jn the motion of Mr Caselberg it was decided to apply for December 26 th and January 2nd, 1910, and March 16th and 17th. 1911, for the summer and autumn meetings, respectively, The treasurer reported as follows: —Accounts in credit, Trust account £378, Totalisator account £205 lis, less Racing Club account, dr.. £l4O 7s 6d, leaving a crsdit balance of £443 4s 6d. It was decided to apply again to Government for a rebate in connection with the recent meeting, and to write to the Hons. J. Millar and J. Carroll on the subject
