MASTERTON STOCK SALE.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd. report having held their fortnightly sale in the Waipoua yardsjyesterday, when they offered a heavy yarding of all classes of sheep, 11,000 coming forward, and out of these 10,000 were disposed of. Prices showed a decided advance on our last sales, and ewes were fully Is per head dearer. Lambs were firm, and all lines were keenly competed for, a number of good buyers being in the market, The quality of the. yarding was much abeve the average," and some really good lines of ewes and lambs came, under the hamrrief. Unly a few wethers came forward, but all lines offered sold at an advance on our last sale prices. We had some really & jod lines of station -ewee and lambs in, and. the large lines met with good competition, and were disposed of under the hammer. The drafts from Land's End, Mataikona, Fernyhurst. and Messrs W. H. Booth, A. H. Tinkham, W. H. and A. E. Booth and Geo. Moore, were all sold under excellent competition. The Land's End ewes commanded much attention,' the line of 800 f.f.nl bringing US 6d, 6 tooth lis lid, and syr ewes 10s lOd. The same station lambs, shorn, also sold well, 374 at 8a Id, 1,000 at 7s lOd, and 200 at 4s 4d. A nice Jine of 6-tooth ewes on account of Mr J. Paku made 12s 4d and 13s; on account of Mr Pearce (btter we sold a tip top line of lambs at 9s 3d. Other quotatioos we give as follows !—Mataikona, 2 and 6-tooth ewes jmadte llaSd; 4yr ewes on account df Booth Bros, lis 3d; 2-tooth ewes 9a 4d, 10&>4d< to 103 ild; 6-tooth ewes, Mb Jld, 12s 4d to 13s; f.f.m. ewes, 9s 7>d,. 10s Bd, lis 3d to lis 6d; full mouth ewes, 7a Bd, 8s 3d, Ba6d, 9sßd, to 10s 9d; 2 and 4tooth wethers, lis lOd to 12s 6d. Rams were well competed for. and sold well. Cattle came forward in excess of advertised numbers, and met w tin a ready sale at full rates. Three-year steers £5 2a; 3 and 4year steers to £6 Is; 2Jyr steers, £5 Is; forward cows, £3 7s; 18-months steers, £2 15s.
