WEDDING.

BROWN—HOOD. A stylish wedding was celebrated in Knox Church yesterday, when Mr David Gardiner Brown, only son of Mrs T Brown, of Masterton, and Miss Mary (Polly) Hood, eldest daughter of Mr F. Hood of "Kohatu," Upper Plain, were united in the bonds of matrimony. The bride was given, away by her father, and she was charmingly attired in a semiEmpire frock of silk taffetas trimmed with Honiton lace, and wore the orthodox veil and orange bloseoms, also carrying a lovely shower bouquet of white cactus dahlias, intermingled with asparagus fern r . The bridesmaids, Miss M. Hood, sister of the bride, and Miss A. Shaw, cousin of the bride, wore lovely semi-Empire frocks of crepe de chine, with cream satin trimmings and black picture hats, and each carried a beautiful shower bouguet of yellow and white cactus dahlias and asparagus ferns. The best man was Mr J. Walker, of Wellington, and Mr J. Shaw attended as groomsman. «

After the marriage service, which was performed by the Rev. L. Thomson, of Carterton, aßsited by the Rev. Bain Macdonald, of Masterton, the bridal party and guests were driven to "Burnside," the residence of Mr W. McKenzie, uncle of the bride, at Manaia, where the; wedding breakfast was held. About eighty guests sat down to the. breakfast, which was held in a. large marcHiee on the lawr\ the interior of which was decorated in Oriental fashion, art.l presented N a very imposing appearance. The usual toasts were duly honoured, and many expressions r" goodwill for future prosperity of the newly married couple were expressed.
