MASTERTON GOLF CLUB.

THE ANNUAL REPORT. The following report will be submitted at the annual meeting of the Masterton Golf Club this afternoon. The committee have pleasure in submtting the annual report and balance sheet for the past season. Keceipts and Expenditure.—The receipts amount to £l9O, and the expenditure to £191; the receipts show a small falling' off as against last year's figures, while the expenditure has increased slightly. The largest items of expenditure are:—Upkeep of greens, etc., £6B; interest on loans, £62; laying down four new greens and making tees, £l7. Membership.—The membership now stands at 133, a slight falling off on the previous year.

Matches.—Th3 usual competitions were played during the season, as well as several inter-club matches. The Men's Championship was won by Mr C. Cox, Miss J. Robieson winning the Ladies' Championship. Thanks—The club wishes to thank those who kindly presented trophies for competition, especially our captain, Mr Galwey, who also presented the stag's hejad now hung m the golf house.

Coming Season.—The links are now in good playing order, the greens under the careful management of the caretaker, Mr Lee, are looking very well. A professional has been engaged for three weeks from 11th April next, and it is hoped members will take full advantage of his ser vices. Daring the past season the club lost one of its most popular members by the death of Mr W. P. James. He always took an active part in the game, and assisted the club in many ways, and was at one time captaio. The Club wishes to extend its sincere sympathy to Mrs James in her bereavemest.
