At the trial of Kanare (who is charged with murdering Mr Jackson, an Administrate at Nasik) the police produced documents found at Kanare saying that he killed Mr Jackson for acquitting a European charged with murder, and for oppressing the poor, adding that unless the work of administration was made impossible the evils would continue unchecked.
