PAHIATUA NEWS.
(Own Correspondent). Wednesday. Several enthusiastic games took place on the local Bowling ureen, this afternoon, two teams of colts (this year's players) journeyeJ over to Palmerstor, this morning, to put their skill against the Palmerstonites. The Cricket Club held a practice this afurnoon on the Recreation Ground. - The Pahiatua Farmers' Association are losing no time in complying with the request of the Farmers' Union re water troughs at the saleyards. To-day I notice workmen engaged in erecting troughs. The banks and law offices of this town are observing to-morruw (St. Patrick's Day) as a holiday. Several local sports left this morning by motor to attend the Napier Park races. At the meeting of the Committee of tha Pahiatua Racing Club an application was received from the Pahiatua Agricultural and Pastoral Association for-the use of about six acres of the Club's ground facing the grandstand. After considerable discussion it was ultimately decided to call a special meeting of the stewards to deil with the matter.
