BOWLING.

The local Bowling Green was well patronised by bowlers on Saturday last. A number of interesting games were played, including three competitions. In the final for the Junior Handicap Singles, D. Guild succeeded in beating E. Pragnell by the narrow margin of one point, the scores being Guild 19, Pragnell 18. At the 10th head, Pragnell was leading, but Guild, by consistent play made the scores e\en at the 20th head. On the last head Guild placed a bowl on the jack, and although Pragnell played some fine shots, be could not dislodge it. For the "Pennants," the holders were defeated by the small margin of one point, the scores being— F. Fowler, C. Ashton, C. Ewington, J. Cochrane (skip), challengers, 18, v. F. Harrison, F. Staples, E. R»se, P. Hollings (skip), holders, 17The game for the Championship Teams Match betweeen Gordon, Whelch, Rigg, J. Hunter (skip), and Cresswell, Beale, W. PragDell, Reid (skip),, resulted in a win for Hunter's team by 32 to 22. ' Two or three teams from the Palmerston Bowling Club are expected in Masterton on Saturday next, to play the local Club. On Thursday-last, W. Praqrnell and Cochrane visited Carterton and played the holders ot the "Grady Medals." Whyte and Fisher, but did not bring the medals] back with them* the Carterton pair_,being toottrorg a combination.
