CARTERTON NEWS.
(Own Correspondent.) Friday. The Rev. W. J. Elliott, who has been appointed to the Whangarei Methodist Circuit, will leave here early next m«nth for his new district. During his sojourn here, Mr Elliott has proved himself a valuable citizen outside of bis Church duties, and he has the best wishes of a large circle of friends for a pleasant time North. On Sundaj the local Methodist
Church will celebrate its harvest thanksgiving festival. Special hymns and anthems will be rendereid by the choir and orchestra, and the church is to be appropriately decorated. The tennis match played yesterday at Featherstoti between the home club and Carterton, ended in the defeat of the visitors by six games to three. The South Wairarapaf Poultry Association purpose holding their Show on July 13th and 14th, if the governing association approve of the dates. Bro. W. Erickson, of Totara Lodge. U.A.0.D., was last evening at Grevtown, installed District President of No. 1 District of the North Island.
