THE DAVIS CUP

Received March 10, J.4s'a.m. SYDNEY, March 9.. The Secretary of the Tennis Association, to-day; received a cable from the secretary of the English Association, challenging for the Davis Cup. The cable was dated London, March Bth. As the regulations provide that the challenge should reach the champion nation not later than the first Monday in March, it is two days late. The Secretary of the Australasian Association has advised the President of the American Association asking if he is agreeable to the acceptance of the challenge. Seeing that it arrived late bo further steps can be taken by the Australasian Association.
