Raupahara, Arrbala 6.8, Dazzling and Reformist 6.7. 4 TURF NOTES. (By "Zetland.") Osiris appears to be fated to fill the unenviable position of second in important events. At the -recent Wellington meeting he acted as runner up'on the second and third days, and at Wanganui last week he. again finished in that position. For the sake of the stable it is hoped that for the remainder of the season the chestnut son of San Fran may be more fortunate. Moloch is acquitting him3elt creditably over the small sticks at Trentham, and will make his debut over hurdles at the Masterton ! meeting this month. Mr J. Cress' chestnut filly by Tawaha-Volley has been named Lady Volley. If she proves to be aa good as her dam she will be of decided service to hsr owner, who trained Volley throughout her successful racing career. The Wanganui Jockey Club has removed the disqualification imposed upon T. Carroll by the Rangitikei Jockey Club in January last. The Napier Park meeting takes place on 16th and 17th inst., and the Masterton meeting on 17th and 18th. Swimming Belt, Taitoko, Osiris and Sir Frisco are nominated at each meeting in the cup races, so their owners will doubtless send them to where they consider they are best treated. • The Datmevirke meeting opens on Wednesday, and a successful fixture is assured. Class is well represented in most of the events, and there should be Bome excellent racing. Mr W. E. Bidwlll's Gravitation is doing good work on the Riccarton training tracks. He is reported to be quite sound, and if so should win a race during the autumn. All Red has had to be eased in his work lately on account of one of his legs filling.
