PAHIATUA NEWS.
(From Our Resident Reporter). Friday. The Pahiatua County Council wil meet to-morrow (Saturday), and the Borough Council will hold their monthly meeting in the Council Chambers on Monday evening next. At the Eketahuna Farmers' Union Annual Show, yesterday. Mr W. J. Sedcole was very successful with his well knwn horse Caloola, in the field events. In the jumping competitions, Mr J. Sweeney's Flamingo accounted for two firsts, and Miss Stewart of Konini, was placed first for the best lady rider. Mr G. F. Ranby's All Gold and Tvjpsy were, also amongst the placed horses in several events. It is stated that the Woodville i Band is attaining its old form of proficiency, and that the members purpose giving a series of open-air concerts. It will be remembered by many that this band some few years back, was one of the finest bands in the North Island. At the meetine of the Woodville County Council, yesterday, the Chairman, on behalf of the Councillors, presented Mr F. Hutchins, the County Clerk, with a handsome wall barometer and thermometer, in view of his recent marriage.
