MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

MANAGER'S MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of Managers of the Masterton Technical School was held in the Technical School last evening. There were present,— Messrs E. Feist (chairman), W. H. Jackson, and E. H. Waddington and the secretary, Mr N. D. Bunting* Apologies for absence were recieved from the Kev. Dean McKenna and Mr C. E. Daniell. Mr A. R. Truebridge, of Taueru, wrote asking when the classes for instruction in wool classes were to be started. Mr Jackson remarked that it looked well for the school to receive inquiries from an oulside district. Miss M. Bunting, teacher of Pitman's system of Shorthand, wrote asking if the Managers would allow her to teach tpyewriting in conjunction with her usual classes. It was pointed out that the pupils would thus have an opportunity of learning typewriting without paying extra fees. It was decided to accept Miss Bunting's offer. On the motion of Mr W. H. Jackson, the secretary was instructed to write to the Education Department, asking if they would supply typewriters to the Technical School at cost price. Mr S. Wood wrote with regard to the wool classes and the committee decided to appoint him as instructor of the classes on the same terms as last year. The action of the sub-committee in appointing. Mr E. P. Fenton as art master of the Technical School was endorsed. On the proposition of the chairman, it was decided to open the classes on the 14th inst. The secretary was instructed to convey to Mr A. J. Parton, instructor of the plumbing classes, the managers' sympathy in connection with his recent sad bereavement. The Treasurer's statement showed a credit balance of £235 0s lOd. Accounts amounting to £3 12s 6d were passed for payment.
