WELLINGTON FARMERS' MEAT COMPANY.
TENDERS FOR WORKS ACCEPTED. FURTHER CONTRACTS TO BE LET. The Directors of the Wellington Farmers' Meat Company were occupied for a considerabe time, yesterday, with the consideration of the tenders for the erection of the buildings for tbe new freezing works at Waingawa. Eight tenders were ra ceived, and that of Messrs Taylor and Hodge, of Master ton, of £18,071 was accepted. Details of the ottier tenders are not available, but it is understood that six of them were within a narrow margin of the Engineer's estimate. The contract is to be completed by November, 30th next, in time for the early fat stock. The Engineer to the Company will also, call tenders on Tuesday next for machinery and plant, in volvicg a sum of something like £IO,OOO. Other buildings are to be erected later, and in fact the Engineer has already received instructions to prepare plans for some additional.buildings such as bacon curing and tinning establishments. It is satisfactory to note that the Railway Department have fulfilled their promise to have the railway siding constructed, and the work is now sufficiently advanced to permit of t~e delivery of material directly on to the site.
