THE HEALTH OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN
VARIOUS RESOLUTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Asaociatio n. UUNEDIN, March 3. The Society for the Promotiun of Health of Women and Children commenced its conference to-day. The following resolutions were passed:— "That something practical in the direction of a more general extension of the benefits of systematic cure of infants beiug augurateri by the Society, and be attempted by offering to help and co-operate with the general hospital authorities in regard to the babies inside and outside such institutions: tbe Government be approached wth a view to rendering illegal the sale of p .tent foods, sold as babies' food, which have not a percentage of sugar fat and proteid (or flesh forming material)marked on the outside; that those persons who are responsible for the placing and upbringing of children boarded out by the Scate be interested as much as is possible in the methods advocated by this Society; that persons having the care of boarded out infants and young children in their homes be instructed as to proper feeding of same. A letter received from Mrs Blair (President of the Y.W.C.A.), asking for tho co-operation of the Society with a view to bringing into force a recent Act cf Parliament whereby women may be elected on Cnaritable Aid and School Boards. The conference declared themselves as being quite in sympathy with the suggestions.
