(Own Correspondent). Warm rain has fallen all over the district, and will give the grass a good start for the winter. Mr F. W. Groves, who unfortunately lost his barn and the contents by fire, has had another misfortune, by loosing ten acres of the best oat crop he has ever grown by caterpilJars, the pest rendered the crop useless in three days. Bishop Wallis will hold confirmation service here on the 10th inst, His Lordship will also visit Castlepoint, and St. Andrew's, Whareama, confirming quite .a number of candidates at each place. Dr. Gunn has been absent for several days, relieving*Dr John&c ;ii, Carterton.
