The report of the Special Commissioner appoin ed to enquire regarding the meat export trade, after making a number of suggestions to improve existing conditions, says:— "Unless we can obtain supervisionjof every operation, from slaughtering to the ship's hold, it Is preferable for the Common wealth to refrain from exercising any supervision, and particularly to refrain from attaching a guarantee of condition."
